Rita E. Samper, M.S. is a Pre-Doctoral Clinical Psychology Intern at the University of Mississippi Medical Center/G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery V.A. Consortium in Jackson, MS. She is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Purdue University. Her clinical work is focused primarily on the treatment of adults with psychopathology utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and other evidenced-based treatments.

Educational objectives:
1. Review diagnostic criteria for social anxiety disorder.
2. Discuss prevalence of co-occurring social anxiety disorder and Axis II psychopathology.
3. Discuss implications of treating Axis I psychopathology when there is co-occurring Axis II psychopathology.

This program is presented in collaboration with the University of Mississippi Medical Center Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior Psychology Residency Consortium.
