Are you interested in stepping into leadership roles, be it at work, in the community, or within the MPA, but feel that having additional support and mentorship beforehand would greatly benefit your transition? The Leadership Development Academy (LDA) was designed to help psychologists enhance their leadership skills and expand their network. Consider exploring MPA’s LDA.
MISSION
The mission of the LDA is to develop and nurture an active pipeline of future MPA leaders which reflects the broad diversity of psychologists in Mississippi.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the LDA is to provide opportunities for emerging leaders to develop a deeper understanding of their individual leadership style, to learn how to be an effective leader in a professional association, to expand their engagement, experience and mentoring with MPA leaders, to enhance their leadership skills and to learn about significant leadership challenges in MPA.

WHEN?
The LDA cohort will begin on September 2026, and run through September 2027.
WHAT?
- Attend a 1-Day Leadership Retreat to be held at the 2026 MPA Convention
- Receive 1:1 Mentoring with a seasoned MPA Leader
- Access to 6 leadership workshops (every other month, two hours each)
- Get involved with an MPA committee of your choice
- Complete 1 fellow-driven MPA/Community project of your choice
